Secret Valley Tipi

Editorial Description

Secret Valley is completely different type of site to most, as it’s located on a working organic farm, vineyard, and outdoor activity centre. Set within the Quantock Hills in Somerset, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty, the site offers a range of accommodation types – including a beautiful Tipi.

A tipi is a traditional nomadic structure with a hole in the top. The tipi at Secret Valley sleeps up to five people on comfy futons, and is located near to an ancient oak tree right next to the vineyard. It’s roomy inside and elegantly furnished to create a spacious living area inside. It’s design will appeal to those looking to get away from it all, so has no electricity supply, but there is a barbeque and fire-pit along with a picnic table just outside.

A short walk away are the shared facilities, which include a kitchen and dining room (with free wi-fi if you really can’t get away from it all!) within a converted barns. The shower block has male and female toilets, along with electric showers and a wet room.

One of the real draws of this site is the range of activities available. There’s a wide variety of animals on the farm (including alpacas!), a high ropes course and tag archery for the adventurous visitors, and a 1-acre coarse fishing lake. You can take a tour of the farm on a purpose built open trailer to see the organic free range chickens, Christmas tree farm, and the vineyard. For those more interested in the vineyard, there’s an adults-only tour that concentrates on the end result of the vine – wine!

Within easy reach of local attractions like Cheddar Caves, Wookey Hole and Glastonbury Abby, this site lets you go back to your nomadic roots in a traditional tipi with a glass of (very) local wine!
